Who this is for

Why serious businesses choose Umbraco - and stay

Founded in Denmark in 2000, Umbraco has powered websites for over two decades without a single ownership change, acquisition, or forced platform migration. That kind of stability is rare in technology - and it matters enormously for businesses that cannot afford to rebuild their digital presence every few years because a vendor changed direction. Over 700,000 websites globally run on Umbraco, including those of Microsoft, Cargill, and CVS Health.

Unlike many commercial platforms, Umbraco carries no licensing fees - the core software is free to use, permanently. That means your budget goes towards building and improving your digital presence, not paying a vendor for the right to use it. Your content editors get a clean, intuitive interface that needs no training. And because Umbraco is built on Microsoft's technology stack - the same foundation used by banks, governments, and global enterprises - your website benefits from world-class security standards and a global pool of skilled developers who can support it long into the future.

For established businesses already on Umbraco - the case for staying is strong

Microsoft backs it. Your upgrade protects it.

One of the most overlooked business risks in web technology is running software that its own maker no longer supports. When support ends, security vulnerabilities go unpatched - permanently. Umbraco addresses this directly by aligning every major Long-Term Support release with Microsoft's own support commitments, so both the platform and its underlying foundation are covered simultaneously.

The current version - Umbraco 17, released November 2025 - is fully backed by Microsoft through to November 2028. That is three years of guaranteed security patches, performance improvements, and continued development, on a predictable schedule. When you upgrade with UPbraco today, you are not just fixing a technical problem - you are securing your digital asset for the next three years.

How Umbraco keeps you protected - automatically
Umbraco releases minor updates every 6 weeks and aligns its Long-Term Support (LTS) versions with Microsoft's own support windows. When you are on a current LTS, both your CMS and its foundation are covered. The moment a version reaches End of Life, security patches stop - permanently. The timeline below shows where full, guaranteed support sits today.

Two problems. Two services. One specialist.

Keep it current, permanently
A website is not a one-time project - it is an ongoing asset. Once upgraded, we monitor your site, apply security updates as they are released, and flag anything that needs attention before it becomes a problem. Think of it as having a dedicated Umbraco specialist on call, without the overhead of a full-time hire.
03
Know where you stand - free
Not sure what version you are on, or what an upgrade would involve? Every engagement starts with a free assessment. We review your current setup, identify the risks, and give you a clear picture of what upgrading would cost and how long it would take - before you commit to anything.

Fixed prices. No surprises.

The cost of upgrading depends on how far your website has drifted from the current standard - and how much custom work was built into it over the years. We price on that basis: three clear packages mapped to the three major technical milestones in Umbraco's history. Every project begins with a free assessment that confirms exactly which package applies to you.

⚠️
Umbraco 13 reaches End of Life in December 2026
If your website runs on U13, you have less than 18 months before security patches stop permanently. Once that date passes, any vulnerability found in the platform will go unpatched - with no exceptions. The time to plan your upgrade is now, not when the deadline arrives.

The partner that knows both sides

Most agencies that touch Umbraco treat it as one of twenty platforms they support. That means when something goes wrong - or when you need an honest answer about whether an upgrade is worth the cost - you are talking to a generalist. UPbraco is built differently. This is a single-platform specialist practice, run by someone who has worked with Umbraco every day for over a decade - building production websites, advising businesses on platform decisions, and maintaining long-standing relationships with the people at Umbraco HQ who actually build the product. You get the kind of insight that only comes from genuine depth.

First Certified Umbraco Master in the Middle East
The Umbraco Certified Master is the highest credential Umbraco HQ awards. Nemanja is the first person in the entire Middle East to hold it - a distinction recognised directly by the people who build the platform.
10 Years of Daily Practice
Not occasional projects - Umbraco has been the platform of choice every working day for over a decade.
Official Umbraco Presence in the Middle East
Beyond certification, Nemanja represents Umbraco's direct presence in the region. That means an in-person relationship with Umbraco HQ in Odense - and if an unusual problem arises during your upgrade, he can go straight to the people who built the platform for an answer. No other agency in the region can offer that.
Technical & Commercial Insight
We understand the code and the business case - which means upgrade recommendations that make sense technically and commercially.

"I have seen what happens when businesses ignore their CMS until something breaks. The cost is always higher - in money, time, and stress - than an upgrade would have been. My job is to make sure that never happens to a client of mine."

What CEOs ask before they reach out

Will my website go down during the upgrade?
No. Every upgrade is built and tested in a separate staging environment - an identical copy of your live site - before anything changes on the real one. Your visitors see nothing different during the process. We only switch to the new version once everything has been verified and you have signed off on it. Zero downtime, zero surprises for your customers.
Will my website look or behave differently after the upgrade?
No. An upgrade moves the platform forward - it does not redesign your site. Everything your visitors see and interact with stays exactly as it is. What changes is underneath: the platform becomes secure, supported, and faster. Your brand, your content, your functionality - all preserved.
How long does an upgrade take, and what do we need to do?
Timeline depends on the complexity of your site and how far it is from the current version. A straightforward upgrade typically takes two to four weeks. A more complex migration from an older version can take four to eight weeks. Your team's involvement is minimal - we handle the technical work entirely. We need access to your codebase and a brief conversation at the start. After that, we keep you informed at every stage without requiring your time.
How do I know which package applies to me?
You do not need to know your version number before reaching out. The free upgrade assessment handles that. Share your website address and we will identify exactly where you are, which package applies, and what the upgrade would involve - in plain language, at no cost and with no commitment. The assessment is always the first step.
We are thinking of switching to WordPress or another platform instead - is that a better option?
It is a fair question, and worth answering honestly. Switching CMS platforms is a fundamentally different project to upgrading your existing one - and it carries risks that are often underestimated at the point of decision.

The most immediate risk is to your search engine rankings. Your current website has accumulated years of SEO authority: indexed pages, backlinks, URL structures, and metadata that Google has learned to trust. A platform switch means rebuilding all of that from scratch on a new technical foundation. If the migration is handled imperfectly - missed redirects, lost metadata, changed URLs - traffic drops can take months to recover from, and some of that authority never returns.

There is also the cost reality. A CMS switch is not an upgrade - it is a full rebuild. New templates, new integrations, retraining your content team, and rebuilding every customisation your current site relies on. In most cases, that costs significantly more than an Umbraco upgrade and takes considerably longer.

On the security question - a common reason businesses consider switching - the data does not favour WordPress for established businesses. In 2024 alone, nearly 8,000 new security vulnerabilities were reported across the WordPress plugin ecosystem. Umbraco's smaller, more controlled architecture and Microsoft-backed foundation gives it a materially smaller attack surface.

The honest answer: if your business is already running on Umbraco and it is working for your team, upgrading it to the latest version is almost always the faster, cheaper, lower-risk, and lower-disruption path. A platform switch makes sense when the platform itself is fundamentally wrong for your needs - not simply because it needs updating.
